Experience Music Project

The EMP is 140,000 square feet of music showrooms. You don't have to be into rock n roll to appreciate the exibits, but there is an opportunity to pose on stage with the rest of your band. There's also a sound lab for hands on music making and mixing.

This is not like a typical museum. It is an interactive guide of music through the ages. Even the building exterior weaves with colors and form. There are several galleries to wander, and the calendar of events change often. Catch dinner and a concert. Or see an exibit on loan from a musical star. You never know what's thrown into the mix for a new exibit and that's half of the entertainment of it.

The Experience Music Project (EMP) is the brain-child of Paul Allen who began with an ode to Jimi Hendrix, then expanded into the most unique set of galleries I've ever seen. I recommend getting there early, as it can get crowded. Make sure you have time to spend the day.
